I'm getting a bit too serious with the Grub Madonna and Grub Unit. They are going back to the more nonrepresentational art in Gallery 1. I can get caught up in the dark colors. I once thought that an intaglio, etching ink, black was the deepest most velvety black I could find; but the black on the monitor is beautifully rich and deep too.

All of the art, beginning with Gallery 1, are presented in chronological order of completion. They read as you would read English text, left to right and top to bottom.

 

 
 
 
         
 

I often build the next images off of a previous one. The top row all come from the Grub Madonna piece. It is a little like creating a new print by using the ghosted image remaining on a printed monotype plate and then adding more ink to it. I do not always do this; but it is a good way to let the working process be a part of the creative process.
