A Personal Cryptozoological Bestiary

The werewolf, as a metaphor for the dualistic nature of the human psyche, has been around for as long as self-aware humans have existed. "Werewolf" literally means "man-wolf" (O.E. wer, man and wulf, wolf.) Stories of humans, both male and female, who can be magically transformed into beasts exist on every continent of the world. If a wolf is not found in a region another locally fiercest beast, such as a tiger, jaguar, bear, crocodile, or fox, takes it's place.
